Diversity Edge Magazine Announces its
2009 best companies for diverse graduates
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Washington
,
D.C.
April 25, 2009/Diversity Edge Magazine has selected 20 companies
for its 2009 Best Companies for Diverse Graduates list. This
listing recognizes companies that have shown leadership
in recruiting, retaining, and advancing the careers of
diverse professionals. “We looked for unique companies
that provide a good entry level foundation for professionals
who have recently graduated from college or graduate
school,” said Kizzie Bozeman Brown, Editor in Chief.
The companies were selected based
on their responses to the Diversity Edge Magazine, Best
Companies Survey, along with the input from the
participating college and university career services
centers. The five areas that the survey measures are:
Diversity Recruiting Policies, Leadership Development
Initiatives, Training Programs,
Opportunity
for Mentorship and Activeness of Employee Affinity Groups.
The survey also considers the company’s overall diversity
initiative.
“We hope that our 2009
Best Companies for Diverse Graduates
list will provide diverse students, both undergraduates and
graduates, direction as they choose the company at which
they will launch their careers,” Brown said.
The list will be distributed to the diverse student
populations of various universities through their career
services centers.
